My Story
How I Began and Where I’m Headed
I’ve been where you are.
I have tried to live the life that seemed picture perfect from the outside looking in. Externally, to everyone else- I looked put together, strong, determined, successful and outgoing. I have a Master’s degree, volunteered for various organizations, and co-ran a successful marine construction company with my husband. I was the problem solver, organizer, and yes a perfectionist! However deep down, I was emotionally numb and disconnected in my marriage, unfilled professionally and searching for my purpose.
I Surrendered.
Finally, after years of discontentment and disappointment, and at times struggling with high functioning depression; I finally decided to do the work. My first step, I surrendered. I completely surrendered to the process. How did I get here? How or when did I become the person who was looking back at me in the mirror? I knew this was not how life was supposed to be. I knew according to God’s word Jeremiah 29:11; there was more for me. God knew why he created me. I was created for a purpose and my life did include true fulfillment and meaning.
Taking Accountability.
The disconnect, feelings of shame and isolation had me thinking that there was no recovery, and no way back to who I wanted to be. But there was a deep resolve in me! I knew deep down God had plans for me! This became the wake-up call that I needed to begin searching for what really mattered in this life. I began to ask God the big questions. I began the process of RENEWING my MIND, taking ACCOUNTABILITY & RESPONSIBILITY of my THOUGHTS and ACTIONS (or INACTIONS)
Jeremiah 33:3 “Call unto me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
Who was I? What was my identity in Christ? More importantly, who did he create me to be? What was I here for? How could I wake up every day and live in a way that was meaningful and made a difference for me, my family, and those around me? Then, how do I actively, authentically, and with intention walk in my calling.
Asking myself these questions led me on an emotional and spiritual journey that changed my life, and I’m here to show you how to achieve this for yourself.
